Ruby
Ruby is a 15.2 Quarter Horse from Black Feather Rescue who came to us in Dec of 2019 when we adopted her. She was thought to be around 18-20 years old. She has been nothing short of a miracle, between all that she has done for us and her survival story before Black Feather, she is a precious gift to our family and all the others who participate in our programs. Ruby is a true teacher to all who are open and willing to learn.

Big Guy (aka Shorty)
Big Guy (aka Shorty) 16.3 Percheron who came to us from Amesbury, where he had a job to hay the fields and had previously been an Amish workhorse. The only problem was that they couldn’t catch him, or build trust, or a relationship of any kind with him. We were told that he was 12, with vet and dental care which seemed like it was the first time for both. We found out at that time his age was closer to 20 and had good reason not to trust the human race by the signs of scaring in his mouth (tongue) and legs. Working with him daily since Easter weekend 0f 2020 he has become a wonderful partner. He brings compassion to the table, while building up people's self-esteem, and confidence and reminds them to be present with him during their time together. Another fabulous teacher at work!

Stewie
Stewie 15.3 Quarter Horse is also from Black Feather Rescue. He came to us in Feb of 2022. He has a puppy dog personality. He loves to lick and groom you, especially when you're brushing him. Stewie is easy to work with, and a pleasure to be around. He had to have an eye removed due to cancer while he was at BFR, so his confidence is a little low, and communicates differently. Stewie opens many doors for us to learn about acceptance, understanding, and deep inner strengths.
